Niger, fronte flava, thoracis lateribus scutellique margine postico fulvis, abdominis fasciis flams, antennis pedibusque fulvis, femoribus basi piceis, pedibus posticis nigris, alis subfuscis.
Body black :
head broader than the chest, covered behind and beneath with hoary down, yellow, and adorned with white shining down in front : eyes red ; facets above successively increasing in size from the hind part to the fore part : mouth pitchy, with a tawny tip ; palpi also pitchy, with tawny tips : feelers tawny : chest very thinly clothed with short tawny hairs ; its sides and the hind border of the scutcheon are tawny :
abdomen tapering from the base to the tip, a little narrower than the chest, and nearly twice its length ; hind borders of the segments yellow ; segments from the first to the third adorned with broad yellow bands, the first entire, the second and third interrupted ; the first and the second connected on each side :
legs tawny ; thighs at the base and hips piceous ; hind legs black, their thighs armed near the tips beneath with two strong teeth :
wings slightly brown ; wing-ribs piceous ; veins black, piceous towards the base ; poisers tawny.
