Mas. Cupreo-nigra, capite chalybeo-nigro vittis duabus flavis, antennis rufis, thorace maculis quatuor luteis, ab-domine fasciis duabus arcuatis luteis, pedibus rufescentibus, alis sub- cinereis, costa fasciaque nigricante fuscis, halteribus fulvis. Foem. Scu- tello flavo apud discum nigricante, abdominis petiolo fulvo, fascia 2a non arcuata, apice chalybeo, pedibus testaceis, posticis nigro fasciatis.
[Copper-black, head steel-black with two yellow ribbons, red antennae, four yellow spots on the breast, two yellow arched bands on the ab-domine, rufescent feet, sub-gray wings, blackish brown rib and band, yellow halters. A female scutellum yellow at the disc blackening, abdomen petiole yellow, band 2a not arched, tip steel, feet scaly, hind legs banded black.]
Male. Cupreous black ; head chalybeous black, with a yellow stripe on each side in front; antennae red, very short; 3rd joint conical ; arista black, short ; thorax with two luteous spots on each side; the 1st pair joining a luteous band on each side of the pectus ; abdomen petiolated, clavate, with two much-arched luteous bands ; legs reddish ; wings slightly cinereous, blackish-brown along the costa, and with an irregular blackish-brown band, which hardly extends to the hind bor- der ; veins black; halteres tawny.
Female. Scutellum yellow, with a blackish disk ; abdomen much com- pressed, with a long slender linear tawny petiole ; the 2nd yellow band not arched; tip chalybeous; legs testaceous; hind femora slightly banded with black ; hind tibiae black towards the tips.
