Distinct species only known from male specimens. Face yellow, lunule yellow, scutellum yellow, metafemur black and pro- and mesofemur yellow. Very similar to Citrogramma flavigenum but C. flavigenum with lunule black, brown macula on facial tubercle, and pro- and mesofemur black basally; both species yellow pilose on notopleuron and on supra-alar area, but C. citrinoides has little black pile.

MALE.
Head with face and frons entirely yellow. Facial tubercle large, with most of face swollen and produced; laterally with whitish dusting narrowly adjacent to eye margins and black pile extending downwards to level of tubercle base. Antennae mostly orange, though somewhat darkened on basal two segments and dorsal half of basoflagellomere; arista brown but paler and orange near base, microscopically pubescent. Eyes bare and with dorsal facets enlarged, especially towards inner margins.
Thorax with central pale area of scutum a dull submetallic bluish green and extending to base of scutellum, but separated from lateral yellow vitta by a narrow but sharply defined black vitta. Pile of scutum mainly black but with some yellow pile intermingled, these more numerous laterally. Scutellum yellow, but with a large diffuse central dark area; pile rather long and dense, entirely black. Yellow area of pleurae divided as follows: a vertical line extending from anterior third of anepisternum down to anterior part of katepisternum, and a series of yellow areas forming a continuous U-shaped marking extending from the posterior third of the aneisternum, to the posterodorsal part of the katepisternum, across the katepimeron to the supraspiracular convexity, resulting in a pattern similar to solomonensis. calypter creamy white anteriorly, otherwise darkened. Halteres entirely orange-yellow. Legs: Pro- and mesolegs with tibiae and femora entirely orange-yellow; coxae, trochanters and tarsi all darkened. Long pile on posterior of pro- and meso- and also on anterior of metafemora mostly black. Wing membrane distinctly tinted brown, more richly golden brown: on stigma and subcostal cell, membrane completely microtrichose.
Abdomen black with transverse yellow fasciae on terga 3 to 5, those on terga 3 and 4 almost uniformly 0.33 the tergum length; tergum 2 with a pair of large yellow maculae narrowed and extended forwards laterally to the anterior corners of the tergum. Hypopygium black.
