Species with yellow face with a medial black vitta, wing entirely microtrichose, scutellum with a triangular black macula, pro- and mesofemur yellow, and anterior anepimeron black. Citrogramma vockerothi is quite distinct from other species by having a pleuron pattern much darker: katepisternum black with a dorsal small yellow macula not reaching yellow area of katepimeron; proepimeron mostly black with small yellow macula; and anterior anepisternum black.

MALE.
Head: Face and frons yellow with a broad black median vitta extending from the mouth to the antennal bases, and extended further to form a black frontal triangle immediately above the antennae. Face with whitish dusting laterally, lateral pile mostly dark but entirely pale on rather less than basal half. Facial tubercle large and rounded; in profile face strongly and evenly convex for almost its entire length. Antennae mostly orange, but darkened along dorsal and apical margins of basoflagellomere, arista dull orange-brown. Eyes bare, dorsal facets enlarged especially towards inner margins.
Thorax with central pale area of scutum distinctly separated into three submetallic bluish green vittae that are separated from the lateral yellow vitta by a distinct black vitta. Pile of scutum whitish on the yellow and pale submetallic areas, otherwise black. Pleurae extensively black, the only sharply defined yellow areas are along the posterior margin of the anepisternum, the katatergum and on the supraspiracular convexity. Scutellum yellow with a large and sharply defined basal black triangle. Calypter extensively darkened, only whitish near posterior margin, halteres entirely orange. Wing membrane with pale brawn hue, mare richly so, on stigma; membrane entirely microtrichose. Legs: Pro- and mesolegs with tibiae and femora entirely orange; legs otherwise black. Pro- and mesofemora with pale yellow pile on basal 0.5 posteriorly, anterior pile of metafemur mostly blackish.
Abdomen black with yellow markings as follows: tergum 2 with a large pair of maculae that are narrowed and extended to the anterior corners of the tergum; terga 3 and 4 with broad fasciae, about 0.33 of tergum length; tergum 5 with a broad fascia, narrowly interrupted in one specimen, hypopygium black.
